Algebra 2
Instructor: Mr. McElmell

Algebra 2 is a two-semester course. Students will expand upon their mathematical knowledge from first-year algebra and geometry. Students will be expected to practice algebraic problem solving skills. The course is a prerequisite for pre-calculus. Students who master Algebra 2 will gain experience with algebraic solutions of problems in various content areas, including modeling linear, exponential, and quadratic equations, solving systems of linear equations, logarithmic and exponential functions, the binomial theorem, complex numbers, polynomials, rational expressions, combinations and permutations, probability and more. In the latter part of the second semester we will explore the fundamentals of triangular and circular trigonometry. To be successful in this class, students should be prepared to spend about 20 to 30 minutes outside of class for every hour in class.
